About Acetal|Acetal copolymer (POM-C). A crystalline engineering plastic with excellent dimensional stability, low moisture absorption, low friction, and good machinability. The most commonly machined engineering plastic alongside nylon. Machines beautifully at high speeds with sharp tools: clean chips, excellent surface finish, and tight tolerances achievable. Used for gears, bushings, bearings, valve components, and food processing equipment. Compare to Delrin (acetal homopolymer, slightly stronger and stiffer) and Nylon (absorbs moisture, slightly tougher).

About Plate|Thick flat stock, generally 3/16" and up, used for machined base plates, fixture plates, wear surfaces, and structural fabrication. Heavier grades get milled, drilled, and tapped directly.
