About Phenolic Canvas|Canvas-reinforced phenolic laminate (LE grade). Cotton canvas impregnated with phenolic resin. Good impact resistance and machinability. Used for gears, bearings, washers, and structural supports where the fabric reinforcement provides toughness that paper-based phenolic lacks. Machines with standard HSS or carbide. Compare to Phenolic Linen (similar but with finer linen fabric) and G-10/FR-4 (glass-reinforced, much stronger).
About Plate|Thick flat stock, generally 3/16" and up, used for machined base plates, fixture plates, wear surfaces, and structural fabrication. Heavier grades get milled, drilled, and tapped directly.
