Machines similar to 304 but tends to be slightly gummier and produce stringier chips due to the molybdenum. Machinability rating is around 40% versus 304's 45%. The moly makes it tougher and more prone to built-up edge on the tool. Same approach as 304: sharp tools, high chipload, flood coolant, don't let it rub. Costs more than 304 (the moly premium). Used in marine hardware, chemical processing, pharmaceutical equipment, and medical implants. Compare to 304 (cheaper, adequate if chlorides aren't a concern).
