About AEB-L|A Swedish martensitic stainless steel optimized for razor-thin edges. Very fine carbide structure from the controlled composition (0.67% C, 13% Cr) produces exceptional edge quality when properly heat treated. The knifemaking community's favorite stainless blade steel for thin, precision-ground edges. Heat treats to HRC 60-62. Machine annealed, then heat treat. Compare to 440C (coarser carbides, slightly higher hardness) and 154CM (higher alloy content, better edge retention).

About Rectangular Bar|Solid rectangular cross-section stock. Functionally similar to flat bar but typically available in thicker, chunkier profiles.
