Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) is the benchmark for raw steel prices.

About A519|ASTM A519 covers seamless carbon and alloy steel mechanical tubing. No weld seam, so you get uniform strength around the circumference. Used for hydraulic cylinders, high-pressure applications, and any tube that needs to handle internal pressure or stress without a potential weld seam failure point. Chemistry depends on the grade ordered (1018, 1026, 4130, 4140, etc.). More expensive than welded tubing. Compare to A513 (welded, cheaper, adequate for most mechanical applications) and DOM (welded then drawn over mandrel, tighter than welded but has a seam).
About Round Tube|Hollow cylindrical stock for sleeves, bushings, spacers, and hydraulic cylinders. DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubing machines well and holds tight tolerances. Welded-seam structural tube is for cutting and welding, not precision work.
