About C89835|A bismuth-tin bronze designed as a lead-free replacement for traditional leaded bearing bronzes like C932. The bismuth provides similar machinability and anti-friction properties to lead without the toxicity. Required for potable water applications and increasingly specified for environmental compliance. Machines comparably to C932. Used for lead-free bushings, valve bodies, and plumbing fittings. Compare to C932 (traditional leaded version, slightly better machinability) and C365 lead-free brass (different alloy system for lead-free requirements).
