About Hy Mu 80|A high-permeability nickel-iron-molybdenum alloy (80% nickel, ~5% molybdenum). Designed for magnetic shielding applications where maximum permeability is required. Shields sensitive electronics, medical instruments, and scientific equipment from stray magnetic fields. Must be properly annealed after forming or machining to achieve optimal magnetic properties, because any cold work degrades permeability. Machine with care using sharp tools and light cuts to minimize residual stress. Not a structural or corrosion-resistant alloy. Compare to Mu Metal (similar 80% nickel composition, different brand name).
About Sheet|Thin flat stock, generally under 3/16", used for stamping, bending, shearing, and laser/plasma cutting. It's the starting material for enclosures, panels, brackets, and formed sheet metal parts.
