About ABS|Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. A common engineering thermoplastic with good impact resistance, machinability, and dimensional stability. The material 3D printers made famous, but in machining it's valued for its balanced properties and easy workability. Machines well at moderate speeds. Used for prototypes, enclosures, housings, and jigs. Compare to Polycarbonate (much higher impact resistance, transparent) and Acetal (stiffer, better wear resistance, more expensive).

About Sheet|Thin flat stock, generally under 3/16", used for stamping, bending, shearing, and laser/plasma cutting. It's the starting material for enclosures, panels, brackets, and formed sheet metal parts.
