About 11L17|Leaded version of 1117. Adds lead on top of the manganese and sulfur for even better machinability while retaining the ability to be carburized. Best of both worlds for high-volume screw machine production of case-hardened parts. Same limitations as all leaded steels. If your application needs easy machining, case hardening, and high volume, this is the material. Being phased out of some specs due to lead content. Compare to 1117 (same but without lead) and 12L14 (better machinability but no case-hardening ability).
About Rectangular Bar|Solid rectangular cross-section stock. Functionally similar to flat bar but typically available in thicker, chunkier profiles. The naming varies by supplier — what one calls rectangular bar, another calls flat bar. Used for keys, gibs, wear strips, brackets, and any part where a rectangular starting profile saves setup time versus milling from plate.
