About 26C3|A French-origin high-carbon steel (1.05% C, 0.35% Mn) used by bladesmiths and toolmakers. Similar to AISI
1095 but with tighter chemistry controls and lower manganese. Produces very fine-grained steel when properly heat treated, resulting in excellent edge geometry for blades. Not a standard industrial or structural grade. Compare to 1095 (similar carbon, more available in the US) and W1 tool steel (similar carbon range with broader industrial use).
