About 26C3|A French-origin high-carbon steel (1.05% C, 0.35% Mn) used by bladesmiths and toolmakers. Similar to AISI 1095 but with tighter chemistry controls and lower manganese. Produces very fine-grained steel when properly heat treated, resulting in excellent edge geometry for blades. Not a standard industrial or structural grade. Compare to 1095 (similar carbon, more available in the US) and W1 tool steel (similar carbon range with broader industrial use).

About Rectangular Bar|Solid rectangular cross-section stock. Functionally similar to flat bar but typically available in thicker, chunkier profiles. The naming varies by supplier — what one calls rectangular bar, another calls flat bar. Used for keys, gibs, wear strips, brackets, and any part where a rectangular starting profile saves setup time versus milling from plate.
