About A234|ASTM A234 covers wrought carbon steel and alloy steel pipe fittings (elbows, tees, reducers) for moderate and high-temperature service. Grade WPB is the most common, using carbon steel similar to A106 Grade B pipe. Not a bar stock material. These are forged or formed fittings. If you're machining A234 fittings, expect mild steel cutting characteristics. Compare to A105 (forged flanges and fittings, similar chemistry) and A403 (stainless steel pipe fittings).
About Round Tube|Hollow cylindrical stock for sleeves, bushings, spacers, and hydraulic cylinders. DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubing machines well and holds tight tolerances. Welded-seam structural tube is for cutting and welding, not precision work.
