Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) is the benchmark for raw steel prices.

About AR200|Abrasion-resistant plate at 200 Brinell hardness. The softest of the AR grades, only marginally harder than standard structural plate. Easier to form, cut, and weld than AR400 while providing some improvement in wear life over A36. Used where moderate abrasion resistance is needed without the fabrication headaches of harder grades. Compare to A36 (similar hardness, no wear specification), AR235 (slightly harder), and AR400F (significantly harder, better wear life).
About Plate|Thick flat stock, generally 3/16" and up, used for machined base plates, fixture plates, wear surfaces, and structural fabrication. Heavier grades get milled, drilled, and tapped directly.
