About 485|Leaded naval brass (60% copper, 37.5% zinc, 1.75% lead, 0.75% tin). Combines the seawater corrosion resistance of C464 naval brass with the machinability benefits of lead. The best-machining marine brass. Used for marine hardware, fittings, and valve components that need to be both machined and seawater-resistant. Compare to 464 (unleaded version, worse machinability) and C360 (better machinability but no marine corrosion resistance).
