About Alloy X|Hastelloy X (47% nickel, 22% chromium, 18.5% iron, 9% molybdenum). A high-temperature alloy with excellent oxidation resistance and strength up to 2200°F. Used for gas turbine combustion cans, afterburner components, furnace hardware, and petrochemical flash drums. Machines poorly like most nickel superalloys. Compare to Inconel 625 (better corrosion resistance, similar temperature range) and Inconel 600 (lower alloy content, less expensive, slightly lower temperature capability).
