Slightly lower tensile and yield strength than standard 316, but the difference is minimal. Machines identically to 316 with the same challenges: gummy cutting, stringy chips, and high tool wear. Machinability around 40%. The material of choice when the spec says 316 and the fabrication involves welding, especially for chemical processing, offshore, and pharmaceutical applications. If you don't need to weld it, standard 316 (or dual-cert) works fine.
