About A53|ASTM A53 covers welded and seamless black and hot-dipped galvanized steel pipe. This is standard plumbing and gas piping, not tubing. Type E is electric-resistance welded, Type S is seamless. Grade B (35 KSI yield) is the most common. Used for plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, gas distribution, and low-pressure process piping. Not a machining material. Compare to A106 (higher temperature/pressure pipe) and A500 (structural tube, not pipe).
