About 353|High-leaded brass (62% copper, 36% zinc, 2% lead). A clock and instrument brass with excellent machinability thanks to the generous lead content. Very close to C360 in cutting performance. Used for clock components, instrument parts, engraving stock, and precision small parts. Not as widely stocked as C360 but machines just as well. Compare to C360 (more common, slightly different composition) and C385 (architectural bronze, similar lead content).

About Plate|Thick flat stock, generally 3/16" and up, used for machined base plates, fixture plates, wear surfaces, and structural fabrication. Heavier grades get milled, drilled, and tapped directly.
