Commonly compared with:C932C954

Aluminum bronze (91% copper, 7% aluminum, 2% iron). High strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and outstanding wear resistance. Significantly stronger than tin bronzes or leaded bronzes. Used for heavy-duty bearings, valve guides, bushings under high loads, and marine hardware. Machines harder than leaded bronzes but manageable with carbide tooling — think of it as similar difficulty to 4140 steel. The aluminum content creates a tough, work-hardening surface. Rigid setups and aggressive feeds are key. Compare to C954 (even higher aluminum content, stronger) and C932 (softer, easier to machine, lower load capacity).
