Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Material Price Book. By using the site, you agree to them. If you use the site for a company, you confirm that you are authorized to act for that company.

What the Service Provides

Material Price Book provides pricing data, benchmark comparisons, material cost estimates, RFQ tools, and a purchasing service for shops.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also place reasonable limits on how features are used.

Estimates Are Not Quotes

Prices, benchmark ranges, drawing estimates, extraction results, and quote comparisons are informational estimates. They are not supplier quotes, bids, guarantees, or offers to sell material.

Pricing and availability can change, and documents can be interpreted incorrectly. We do not guarantee that information on the site is accurate, complete, or current. Confirm specifications, pricing, availability, freight, lead times, and commercial terms directly with a supplier before making a purchasing decision.

Quote Concierge

If you ask us to shop a quote, we may share limited order details with independent suppliers as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not guarantee that a supplier will respond, beat your current price, or meet your requirements.

Any resulting quote, order, payment, or sale is between you and the supplier. Material Price Book is not the seller of the material, and we are not a broker, agent, or fiduciary for either party. The first RFQ is free for a shop. After that, the service has the flat monthly shop fee described on the RFQ page. Suppliers pay us nothing, including when they win an order.

Your Documents and Data

You retain your rights to documents and information you upload.

You grant Material Price Book a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, analyze, and use that content as needed to provide and secure the service and to improve document extraction and benchmark data.

Supplier quotes and quotes uploaded by shops may inform de-identified, aggregate benchmarks. We do not publish individual quotes or identify the shop or supplier. A public range of supplier quotes for a specific item requires quotes from at least three distinct suppliers for that item.

You confirm that you have permission to upload the content and use it for these purposes. We handle uploaded content as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

Do not use the service unlawfully, upload content you do not have permission to use, attempt to access another user's data, or interfere with the site's operation.

We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users.

Service Provided "As Is"

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Material Price Book is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or purchasing decisions made in reliance on site data. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation in this section, so those limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

California Law and Disputes

California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact hello@materialpricebook.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally must be brought in a state court located in Alameda County, California, or a federal court in the Northern District of California.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
