About C937|High-leaded tin bronze (80% copper, 8% tin, 10% lead, 2% zinc). Even more lead than C932, making it the best-machining bronze alloy. Designed for bearings and bushings under lighter loads where easy machinability and excellent anti-friction properties are the priority. The extra lead provides superior self-lubricating behavior. Used for general-purpose bearings, thrust washers, and backing plates. Compare to C932 (less lead, slightly stronger, the more common bearing bronze) and 544 (free-cutting phosphor bronze, better spring properties).
