13-8 Mo PH (precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless). One of the highest-strength stainless steels available, reaching 220+ KSI tensile after aging. Better transverse toughness than 17-4 PH and slightly better corrosion resistance. Machine it in the solution-annealed condition (Condition A) where it's manageable, then age-harden. After aging it's extremely tough on tools. Used for high-performance aerospace components, landing gear parts, and structural fasteners where 17-4 PH isn't strong enough. Expensive and harder to source than 17-4. Compare to 17-4 PH (lower strength, more available, cheaper) and 15-5 PH (better transverse properties than 17-4 but lower strength than 13-8).
