About LF2|ASTM A350 LF2 is a forging specification for low-temperature service. Covers carbon steel flanges, fittings, and valves rated for service down to -50°F. The chemistry is similar to 1020-1030 range steel but with mandatory Charpy impact testing at the rated low temperature. Normalized heat treatment is required. If you're machining LF2 forgings, it cuts like mild steel. The special part is the certification and testing, not the machinability. Compare to A105 (standard temperature forging flanges) and A350 LF3 (even lower temperature rating, nickel-bearing).
