About 903|Tin bronze (88% copper, 8% tin, 4% zinc). An excellent general-purpose bearing and gear bronze with good corrosion resistance and moderate strength. Higher tin content than C932 gives better wear resistance under moderate loads. Used for pump impellers, piston rings, valve components, steam fittings, and gears operating in corrosive environments. Machines well with standard tooling. Compare to C932 (higher lead, better machinability, lower strength) and C905 (more tin, even better wear resistance).
