Aluminum 7075 Hex Bar Prices

Current 7075 Aluminum Hex Bar prices by dimension, with $/lb for cross-size comparison.

About 7075|The strongest common aluminum alloy. Roughly twice the tensile strength of 6061 and machines noticeably better. Produces short, clean chips where 6061 strings. Leaves a brighter, smoother surface finish. The downsides: it costs about 2x what 6061 costs, it’s essentially non-weldable, and it can be unstable in large hogouts due to residual stress from heat treatment. Standard in aerospace, defense, and anywhere you need maximum strength from aluminum. If 6061 can do the job, use 6061. Reach for 7075 when you need the extra strength or better machinability and can justify the price.
About Hex Bar|Six-sided bar stock used for bolts, nuts, fittings, and any part that needs a wrench-friendly grip. It self-centers in a 3-jaw chuck, making it common in screw machine and CNC lathe work.
