About Greek Ascoloy|A martensitic stainless steel (UNS S41800) with tungsten and vanadium additions for high-temperature strength and creep resistance. Designed for gas turbine and jet engine components operating at moderate to high temperatures. Can be hardened to HRC 35-40. Machines reasonably well in the annealed condition. Rarely seen outside of aerospace and power generation applications. Compare to 410 (simpler chemistry, no high-temperature benefit) and Inconel 718 (much higher temperature capability but far more expensive).
